“The year leading up to Will committing to Indiana was very exciting and overwhelming at times. Cade’s knowledge and guidance during the recruiting process was instrumental for us deciding on the right school for Will; from both an academic and athletic perspective.
Cade spent time really connecting with our family. He talked with us at length about our goals for Will, and he helped clarify what our non-negotiable elements were when it came to school options, academic and sports programs. Cade was able to take our goals, Will’s academic transcripts and desired learning pathway, and evaluate potential options at the schools we were exploring. He outlined for us school and program strengths, eligibility guidelines based on Will’s prior academic history, and helped us to examine other academic scholarship opportunities at the schools in order to supplement potential athletic scholarship monies.
Athletically, our end goal was for Will to play at a highly competitive school and in a highly competitive conference. We also wanted there to be a realistic opportunity for Will to see playing time in his freshman year. Cade researched various schools that we were exploring. He shared with us prior commitment data for these schools, team roster details with depth of roster for Will’s preferred playing positions, and player development approaches for athletes. Having this information allowed our family to be much better prepared for meeting with coaches, attending school visits and ensuring we had a list of specific questions to help us in our final decision making process. Cade also reviewed Will’s scholarship offers with us as they were presented. He pointed out main considerations to explore further and helped us to develop clarifying questions as we negotiated Will’s final commitment.
